PLAS-FIT UK CODE OF CONDUCT SUPPORTING CONTROLS ON TAX EVASION

Objective:

To establish a clear framework to prevent the facilitation of tax evasion within Plas-Fit UK, ensuring compliance with the Criminal Finances Act 2017 and promoting ethical behaviour in all business activities.

 

Scope:

This policy applies to all employees, directors, officers, contractors, and any third parties acting on behalf of Plas-Fit UK.

 

Policy Statement:
* Zero Tolerance: Plas-Fit UK has a zero-tolerance approach to tax evasion and the facilitation of tax evasion. All forms of tax evasion, whether direct or indirect, are strictly prohibited.

* Compliance with the Law: All employees must comply with the Criminal Finances Act 2017 and other relevant tax legislation.

* Ethical Conduct: All business dealings should be conducted with the highest standards of integrity and transparency.

 

Responsibilities:

Plas-Fit UK Directors will:
* Promote and enforce the anti-tax evasion policy.
* Provide resources and training to ensure compliance.
* Monitor and review the effectiveness of controls to prevent tax evasion.

 

Employees:
* Understand and comply with the anti-tax evasion policy.
* Report any suspected tax evasion or facilitation to the Directors.
* Act with integrity and avoid any activities that could be construed as facilitating tax evasion.

 

The Directors will:
* Oversee the implementation of the anti-tax evasion policy.
* Investigate reports of suspected tax evasion.
* Provide training and guidance on compliance with tax legislation.

 

Procedures:
1. Risk Assessment:
* Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential risks of tax evasion within the business operations.
* Implement appropriate measures to mitigate identified risks.

 

2. Training and Awareness:
* Provide mandatory training to all employees on anti-tax evasion practices and legal obligations.
* Ensure employees understand the importance of compliance with tax laws and the consequences of tax evasion.

 

3. Due Diligence:
* Conduct thorough due diligence on all business partners, including agents, suppliers, and contractors, to ensure they have robust anti-tax evasion policies in place.
* Ensure that third parties understand and comply with Plas-Fit UK’s anti-tax evasion policy.

 

4. Reporting and Investigation:
* Implement a clear procedure for reporting suspected tax evasion or facilitation.
* Ensure that all reports are investigated promptly and confidentially.
* Take appropriate disciplinary action against employees found to be involved in facilitating tax evasion.

 

5. Record Keeping:
* Maintain accurate and complete records of all business transactions.
* Ensure that financial records and contracts clearly document the true nature of the transactions.

 

Penalties for Non-Compliance:

Non-compliance with this policy will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Additionally, individuals and the company may face severe legal penalties under the Criminal Finances Act 2017.

 

Review:

This policy will be reviewed as necessary to ensure its effectiveness and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This Policy is communicated to all employees and integrated it into our regular training programs.
