PLAS-FIT UK HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK POLICY

Objective:

To ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, contractors, visitors, and anyone affected by our operations, in compliance with relevant health and safety legislation.

 

Scope:

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, visitors, and any other stakeholders at all Plas-Fit UK locations and during all work-related activities.

 

Policy Statement:
• Commitment: Plas-Fit UK is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment and preventing work-related injuries and illnesses. We will comply with all relevant health and safety laws and regulations.
• Responsibility: Health and safety are a shared responsibility. While management is accountable for ensuring a safe workplace, all employees are responsible for following safety protocols and reporting hazards.
• Continuous Improvement: We will continuously improve our health and safety performance through regular reviews, risk assessments, and employee training.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Management:
– Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures.
– Provide resources and training to support health and safety initiatives.
– Conduct regular health and safety audits and inspections.
– Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to prevent recurrence.
– Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.

 

Employees:
– Follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
– Report any hazards, incidents, or near-misses to their manager or the Health and Safety Officer.
– Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
– Participate in health and safety training and initiatives.

 

Directors will:
– Oversee the implementation of health and safety policies.
– Conduct risk assessments and safety audits.
– Provide health and safety training.
– Investigate incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

 

Procedures:

 

1. Risk Assessment:
– Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement control measures.
– Review and update risk assessments annually or when there are significant changes to the workplace or processes.

 

2. Training and Awareness:
– Provide health and safety training to all employees, including induction training for new employees.
– Ensure employees are aware of emergency procedures and the location of first aid kits and safety equipment.

 

3. Emergency Procedures:
– Develop and communicate emergency procedures for fire, evacuation, and other potential emergencies.
– Conduct regular emergency drills to ensure preparedness.

 

4. Incident Reporting and Investigation:
– Implement a clear process for reporting and investigating incidents, accidents, and near-misses.
– Ensure all incidents are documented, investigated, and reviewed to prevent recurrence.

 

5. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
– Provide appropriate PPE to employees and ensure it is used correctly.
– Maintain and replace PPE as necessary.

 

6. Health and Wellbeing:
– Promote health and well-being initiatives to support employees’ physical and mental health.
– Provide access to occupational health services and employee assistance programs.

 

Compliance and Review:
• Compliance: All employees must comply with this policy. Non-compliance will result in disciplinary action.
• Review: This policy will be reviewed annually or as necessary to ensure its effectiveness and compliance with legislation.

 

This Policy is communicated to all employees and integrated it into our training programs.
