PLAS-FIT UK DRUGS AND ALCOHOL POLICY

Objective:

To ensure a safe, healthy, and productive work environment free from the effects of drug and alcohol misuse.

 

Scope:

This policy applies to all employees, contractors and visitors at all Plas-Fit UK locations and during all work-related activities.

 

Policy Statement:
• Prohibition: The use, possession, distribution, or sale of illegal drugs and alcohol on company premises or during working hours is strictly prohibited.
• Prescription Medication: Employees using prescription medication that may affect their ability to perform their duties must inform their manager. Employees are responsible for using such medications in a way that does not jeopardise workplace safety.
• Testing: Plas-Fit UK reserves the right to conduct drug and alcohol testing where permitted by law, including pre-employment screening, random testing, and testing following any incident or when there is reasonable suspicion of impairment.
• Support: Employees with drug or alcohol-related problems are encouraged to seek help. Plas-Fit UK offers access to confidential support services and, where appropriate, will provide reasonable assistance to employees seeking treatment.
• Disciplinary Action: Violations of this policy will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. This includes refusal to undergo testing when requested under the conditions described in this policy.

 

Responsibilities:
Plas-Fit UK Directors will:
* Ensure the policy is communicated to all employees.
* Monitor and enforce compliance with this policy.
* Provide support to employees seeking help for drug or alcohol-related issues.
* Conduct and oversee testing procedures as necessary.

 

Employees:
* Comply with the policy and avoid drug or alcohol use that could affect their work performance or safety.
* Report any observed violations of this policy.
* Seek assistance if they have a drug or alcohol-related problem.

 

Procedures:
1. Education and Training:
* All employees will receive training on the risks associated with drug and alcohol misuse.
2. Reporting and Investigation:
* Employees who suspect a violation of this policy should report their concerns to their Managing Director.
* All reports will be investigated promptly and confidentially.
3. Testing Procedures:
* Testing will be conducted by qualified personnel using reliable methods.
* Employees will be informed of their rights and the testing process before any test is conducted.
* Positive test results will be reviewed by a medical professional to determine if there is a legitimate medical explanation.

 

Confidentiality:

All information related to drug and alcohol testing and any related disciplinary action will be treated as confidential. Access to this information will be restricted to individuals who need it to perform their job duties.

 

Review:

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure its effectiveness and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

 

This Policy is communicated to all employees and integrated it into our training programs.
