PLAS-FIT UK WORKPLACE VIOLENCE POLICY

Objective:

To ensure a safe and secure work environment for all employees by preventing and addressing workplace violence. This policy outlines Plas-Fit UK’s commitment to a violence-free workplace and the procedures for reporting and handling incidents of workplace violence.

 

Scope:

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, suppliers, and any third parties interacting with Plas-Fit UK.

 

Policy Statement:
• Zero Tolerance: Plas-Fit UK has a zero-tolerance policy towards workplace violence. Any form of violence, whether verbal or physical, will not be tolerated and will be addressed promptly and effectively.

• Safe Work Environment: We are committed to providing a safe and secure work environment for all employees, free from threats, intimidation, and violence.

 

Definitions:
• Workplace Violence: Any act of violence, harassment, intimidation, or other threatening disruptive behaviour that occurs at the work site. It includes physical assault, verbal abuse, threats, coercion, and any behaviour that causes fear for personal safety.

 

Responsibilities:

 

The Directors will:
– Promote and enforce the Workplace Violence Policy.
– Ensure all employees are aware of their rights and responsibilities under this policy.
– Provide training and resources to prevent workplace violence.
– Investigate and address all reports of workplace violence promptly and fairly.

 

Employees:
– Understand and comply with the Workplace Violence Policy.
– Report any incidents or threats of violence to their manager.
– Support colleagues who are experiencing workplace violence by encouraging them to report it.
– Participate in training and awareness programs related to workplace violence prevention.

 

Procedures:

1. Reporting Workplace Violence:
– Employees who experience or witness workplace violence should report it immediately to their manager or relevant person.
– Reports can be made verbally or in writing and will be treated confidentially.
– In case of immediate danger, employees should contact security or emergency services.

 

2. Investigation Process:
– All reports of workplace violence will be investigated promptly and impartially.
– The investigation will involve interviews with the complainant, the alleged perpetrator, and any witnesses.
– Both parties will be kept informed of the progress and outcome of the investigation.

 

3. Confidentiality:
– All information related to a report of workplace violence will be treated confidentially and shared only on a need-to-know basis.
– Retaliation against individuals who report workplace violence will not be tolerated.

 

4. Outcomes and Disciplinary Action:
– If the investigation finds that workplace violence has occurred, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken, which may include termination of employment.
– Support and counselling will be offered to the affected individuals.
– Measures will be taken to ensure the safety and well-being of all employees.

 

5. Support for Employees:
– Employees who have experienced workplace violence will be offered support, which may include counselling services.
– Plas-Fit UK will take steps to ensure the affected employee’s work environment is safe and supportive.

 

6. Training and Awareness:
– Regular training will be provided to all employees on recognising, preventing, and addressing workplace violence.
– Awareness campaigns will be conducted to promote a culture of safety and respect.

Review:

This policy will be reviewed as necessary to ensure its effectiveness and compliance with relevant laws and best practices.
